I feel very fortunate that two passions have come together to fulfill a career path for me — the joys of playing pool and the beauty of fine furniture. I started this journey in my teen years when I was a devoted player of Straight Pool.  Never would I have dreamed then that some day I’d become a designer of exceptional hand made pool tables for a very sophisticated clientele, those who love the game and also appreciate fine art and craft.

My second passion was developed through studying furniture design in The School for American Craftsmen at Rochester Institute of Technology. From the start of my furniture-making career I wanted to make pool tables and in 1996 I finally got the chance.  Based on my furniture designs, one of my clients commissioned me to design and build such a complex and exacting major piece. When this first table was finished, everything clicked and I realized that creating custom pool tables would be the main focus of my design work.

Now Hatch Studio is one of a very few workshops where original design and carefully selected hardwoods are combined to make beautifully unique hand made pool tables.  Hatch Studio is located in a 19th Century mill housing many artists and craftsmen on the banks of the Androscoggin River in Brunswick, Maine.
